AOLI STONE at Marmomac 2025: Embracing a Sustainable and Smart Future in the Stone Industry

The global stone industry once again converged at the Marmomac 2025 exhibition in Verona, Italy, from September 23rd to 26th. This premier event, a key indicator of industry trends, revolved around the powerful theme, “Stone takes the stage.” It attracted over 1,400 exhibitors and 65,000 professional visitors from 150 countries, transforming Verona into the epicenter of stone innovation and business.

AOLI STONE was proud to participate in this dynamic gathering, connecting with architects, fabricators, and suppliers from across the globe. The energy was palpable, and the discussions were forward-looking. Here are the key trends that defined the event.

Sustainability: From Buzzword to Business Standard

This year, sustainability was a core business imperative, not just a talking point. We noticed a significant shift, with partners increasingly asking about the environmental footprint of their material choices.

The industry is responding with data. Highlights from the exhibition included Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) that validate the eco-credentials of natural stone. One study noted that a square meter of two-centimeter-thick Italian natural stone releases an average of only 13.5 kg of CO₂ throughout its life cycle. This positions natural stone as one of the lowest-impact building materials available.

The Chinese Contingent: A Strong and Innovative Force

The presence of Chinese manufacturers was stronger than ever, with 120 Chinese companies occupying nearly 2,500 square meters of exhibition space . Companies like Hongkai Stone, Yingliang Group, and Pengxiang showcased innovative green building materials and a firm determination to expand in international markets.

These enterprises captivated visitors with diverse presentation techniques. For instance, Fanxi Stone standardized all display samples to 30mm×90mm to give a complete view of the veining, while Pinhang Stone adopted an immersive approach by laying its exclusive "Only Green" luxury stone on the floor, allowing visitors to walk on it and feel its texture firsthand.

Technology Reshaping Fabrication and Design

Technological innovation was a major highlight, demonstrating how the industry is blending tradition with cutting-edge tools. Shenda Machine showcased its self-developed TYR five-axis equipment, which integrates seven functions including cutting, milling, and engraving.

Beyond materials, the future points towards digitalization. The upcoming 2026 edition of Marmomac is set to feature a "Digital Building Hub," focusing on BIM stone modeling and AR material selection systems, guiding the industry toward a more digital future.

Marmomac is more than a trade show; it's a global platform for collaboration. The event facilitated an estimated 2,000 business matchmaking sessions -2. Data from the previous year showed that 43% of the cooperation intentions involved cross-border supply chain integration.
